What was the first ever Marvel movie, was it Blade?

While there are masses of online debates regarding the original Marvel movie, many factors must be considered.

Having been released in 1998 as an American superhero horror film, Blade is the first-ever Marvel movie and is the first instalment of the Blade franchise, based on the Marvel Comics superhero of the same name.

Blade, originally played by Wesley Snipes, is part-vampire and part-mortal and becomes a vampire hunter to protect human beings as he prevents vampires from taking control over the human race.

As a commercial success, Blade produced $131.2 million worldwide at the box office.

The horror was directed by

Stephen Norrington, written by David S. Goyer and produced by Marvel Enterprises, Amen Ra Films and Imaginary Forces.

However, MCU is a slightly different story. Marvel Studios did not yet exist at the time of Blade‘s production, making the first movie produced by Marvel Studios, Iron Man.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is defined as an American media franchise and shared universe centered on a series of superhero films produced by Marvel Studios.

In a breakdown of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, Rotten Tomatoes reported that while Iron Man, can claim the banner as the first of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, within its story, Chris Evans’ origin story as Captain America in The First Avenger takes action in 1942.
